MACPASS Plus to be discontinued as payment option for parking at Halifax Stanfield

Halifax Stanfield International Airport will soon stop accepting MACPASS Plus as a payment option for parking. Starting Monday, March 3, travelers will need to take a ticket upon entering the parking facilities and use alternative payment methods.

The Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA) announced the change as part of the transition leading up to the removal of tolls on the Halifax Harbour bridges, set to take effect on April 1.

Customers who used MACPASS Plus for parking before the deadline will still be able to exit the lot using the system, with charges applied as usual.

“We encourage travelers to prepare for this change by familiarizing themselves with other available payment options,” the HIAA stated.

Halifax Stanfield serves as Atlantic Canada’s largest full-service airport, handling 4 million passengers in 2024 and contributing $4.2 billion annually to the provincial economy.
