Male will be charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop, assa­ult with a weapon after incident in Halifax

At approximately 3:00 pm officers attemp­ted to pull over a vehicle on Old Sambro Rd. The vehicle did not pull over and increased speed. The officers did not pur­sue the vehicle.

Shortly afterward, the officers saw the vehicle stopped in a driveway on Lee Mur­phy Crescent. The of­ficers blocked the driveway with their vehicle. The suspect backed his vehicle into the police vehic­le causing a small amount of damage to both vehicles.

There were no injuri­es.

The suspect was taken into custody and will be held for cour­t.

A 22-year-old male will be charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop, assa­ult with a weapon.
