Male youth faces drug and weapons charges

 

A male youth face charges after he was arrested in Dartmouth last night.

 

At approximately 6:55 p.m., officers patrolling the Natal Day events on Prince Albert Road noticed a male drinking alcohol in a wooded area between Prince Albert Road and Sinclair Street. Officers arrested the male without incident, and upon searching him and his backpack, they located a quantity of marijuana, a quantity of money, a hand gun, ammunition and a knife.

 

A sixteen-year-old male from Dartmouth was held in police custody overnight and has been charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and numerous weapons-related offences. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court today.
