Males arrested for stealing truck in Eastern Passage

  August 2, 2012, Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia . . . Police arrested two males earlier this morning in Eastern Passage shortly after the pair had stolen a pick-up truck.

 

August 2, 2012, Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia . . . Police arrested two males earlier this morning in Eastern Passage shortly after the pair had stolen a pick-up truck.
 
At approximately 2:30 a.m., an RCMP officer was patrolling the Main Rd area of Eastern Passage when he came upon two suspicious males with a Ford Ranger pick-up truck.  When the officer engaged his emergency equipment to stop them, the males fled.  With the assistance of a Halifax Regional Police Service Dog, the two suspects were located and arrested.  One of the males received a minor injury during the arrest which he was treated for on scene.
 
The suspects were a 21-year-old male from Eastern Passage and a 22-year-old male from Dartmouth.  Both males were held in custody overnight.  The 21-year-old will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court this morning on multiple charges, including:
Theft of Motor Vehicle
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.00
Resisting Arrest
Failure to comply with Probation Orders x 3
Failure to comply with Recognizance Orders x 4
 
The 22-year-old was released on a Promise to Appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date for charges of Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.00.
