A man and woman face trafficking and weapons charges after a drug search by members of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division yesterday in Halifax.
At 11:40 a.m., a 31-year-old man from Halifax was arrested for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking after members of the Guns and Gangs Unit, withassistance from Drug Unit, conducted a traffic stop at the corner of Harvey and Barrington Street’s in Halifax.
A short time later, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in the 3600 block of Lynch Street in Halifax. As a result of the search, investigators seizedquantities of cocaine and marijuana as well a hand gun, ammunition, a large quantity of cash, a conducted energy device and drug paraphernalia.
A 30-year-old woman from Halifax was arrested for trafficking cocaine and multiple weapons offenses after turning herself in to police in Dartmouth last night.
Matthew Robert Cater and Krystle Lee Banks are both scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court later today in relation to drug trafficking and multiple weapons offenses.
