Man arrested after allegedly pointing firearm

At 4:00 pm on October 26th, 2013 a 31 year old male contacted police reporting he had a firearm pointed at him in the area of the 0-100 block of Dawn Street in Dartmouth.  
At 4:00 pm on October 26th, 2013 a 31 year old male contacted police reporting he had a firearm pointed at him in the area of the 0-100 block of Dawn Street in Dartmouth.  
The victim attended a residence to confront another male in relation to work that was recently done to his vehicle when the weapon was produced.  The victim fled the scene and contacted police.  Officers arrived on scene within minutes and at 4:20 pm arrested a 42 year old male leaving his residence without incident .  He was found to be in possession of ammunition and brass knuckles.  A search warrant was later executed at his residence where two rifles were seized.   The accused was held in police custody overnight and will have a J.P hearing in the morning.
Charges:
– unauthorized possession of a firearm contrary to section 91(1) CC
– unsafe storage of a firearm and ammunition (2 counts) contrary to section 86(1) CC
– possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to section 88(1) CC
– possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to section 91(2) CC
