Shortly after midnight this evening Central Division officers were dispatched to the 5000 Block of Charles Street, Halifax to a report of a person stabbed. Upon arrival police found a 31 year old man suffering from a stab wound to his chest area. The man was transported to hospital with injuries that are considered non-life threatening. Investigation into the matter has revealed the man answered his door and saw three people who were unknown to him. One male is described as being black, wearing jeans, a red shirt and carrying a bag with the strap across his chest. The second male is described as white carrying a red/camo bag wearing a red hat. The third person is described as a thin blonde female wearing a red/black/and blue dress with a flannel shirt over top of it. There was a short exchange and physical confrontation resulting in the victim getting stabbed.
Halifax Regional Police have arrested a 35 year old man in relation to this incident. He was arrested by patrol officers as he was walking in the area of Blowers Street and Barrington Street. He is currently in police custody awaiting a bail hearing.
