Yesterday at 3pm, a 27 year old female was walking in the area of Chebucto Rd and St. Matthias St. in Halifax, when she was approached from behind by a male who grabbed her then proceeded to sexually assault her. The suspect attempted to force the female into a nearby allay however she fought him off.
The 35 year old male suspect was located at approximately 8:30pm in the area of Oxford St and Berlin St, where he was arrested and taken into custody. At this time the investigation is ongoing and it expected that the male suspect, who is known to police, will be attending court sometime today on sexual assault charges. The female victim was not injured during the assault.
