Man arrested following knifepoint robbery at Halifax Best Buy

On February 21 at approximately 11:10 a.m., officers responded to a robbery at the Best Buy located at 11 Washmill Lake Drive in Halifax. A man entered the store, took over $1,000 worth of merchandise, and threatened an employee with a knife. The man fled the store on foot. At approximately 11:30 a.m., police located the suspect a short distance away and arrested the man without incident. The employee was not physically harmed.

A 42-year-old man, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date and faces the following charges:

  • Robbery
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Possession of stolen property under $5000
