Man arrested for break and enter

Police have charged a man in relation to a break and enter into a business and a theft from a vehicle that occurred in Halifax over the weekend.

On November 28 at approximately 6:40 a.m. police responded to report of a break and enter in progress into a business in the 5000 block of Spring Garden Road. While en route to the call, a patrol officer observed a man matching the suspect description breaking into a vehicle parked in the 1500 block of Birmingham Street. Officers arrested the suspect at the scene without incident.

Jesse Lee James Rector, 36, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face one count each of break and enter, theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property and property damage.
