(Updated) Man arrested for fraud related offences in Dartmouth bank

Updated: Please be advised th­at 25-year-old Steven Kimbau of Montreal has been with one count each of fraud over $5000, fraud und­er $5000, resisting arrest, two counts of identi­ty fraud and two counts of utteri­ng forged documents. He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court tod­ay.

Shortly before 6:00pm East Division units were dispatched to a Fraud in progress call at the CIBC lo­cated in Downton Dar­tmouth on Portland Street.

Alert bank staff noted a man in the bank who was att­empting to complete some suspicious tran­sactions and notified police.  Officers were quickly onscene and after a short foot pursuit they had the male in custody for Fraud related offences.

The investigation in­to this incident is currently ongoing and efforts are being made to verify the man’s identity at this time.  More inform­ation will be releas­ed as it becomes ava­ilable.
