Updated: Please be advised that 25-year-old Steven Kimbau of Montreal has been with one count each of fraud over $5000, fraud under $5000, resisting arrest, two counts of identity fraud and two counts of uttering forged documents. He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
Shortly before 6:00pm East Division units were dispatched to a Fraud in progress call at the CIBC located in Downton Dartmouth on Portland Street.
Alert bank staff noted a man in the bank who was attempting to complete some suspicious transactions and notified police. Officers were quickly onscene and after a short foot pursuit they had the male in custody for Fraud related offences.
The investigation into this incident is currently ongoing and efforts are being made to verify the man’s identity at this time. More information will be released as it becomes available.
