Man arrested in stolen vehicle recovery in Halifax

Halifax police have made an arrest after recovering a stolen vehicle connected to a theft reported last week.

On November 24, at approximately 8 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from the 900 block of Greenwood Avenue in Halifax. The vehicle, valued at over $5,000, had been taken under unknown circumstances, prompting an investigation.

Nearly a week later, on November 29, at approximately 6:40 a.m., officers located the stolen vehicle parked in a lot on Manor Lane in Halifax. Upon approaching the vehicle, police found a man inside and arrested him without incident.

The suspect, a 40-year-old man, is now facing several charges, including:

Possession of stolen goods over $5,000

Failure to comply with conditions of a release order

Possession of housebreaking tools

The man was held in custody and is expected to appear in court to answer for the charges.

Police have not disclosed additional details about the circumstances of the theft or how the vehicle was located.
