Updated: Man assaulted after disturbance in his home

Updated: In relation to a break and enter that occurred on July 9th at approximately 11:30 pm on Farrell Rd in Dartmouth, members of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have completed their investigation and the man and woman that were arrested overnight will not be charged with offences related to the break and enter.  The woman has been released from custody.  The 33 year old man has been remanded into custody and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial court on Monday July 11th charged with breaching a court order (Recognizance).

At 1130 PM East Division officers were called to the 0-100 Block of Farrell Street in relation to a disturbance occurring inside of an apartment.  Upon arrival officers spoke to a 41 year old male who stated that a male and female known to him broke into his apartment and assaulted him.  Simultaneously, other officers attending arrested a 33 year old male and a 27 year old female for break and enter and transported them to Headquarters where they remain at this time.  The victim in this matter was not injured.  The General Investigative Section and the Forensic Identification Section are currently investigating and more information relating to this matter will be released when it becomes available.  Investigators are asking anyone who has any information on this incident to contact police by calling902-490-5020.
