Man assaults two people at MLA’s office, causes damage at office and rec center

Halifax Regional Police are currently conducting an investigation into two separate incidents involving assaults and property damage that occurred in Halifax yesterday.

Around 12:10 p.m., officers responded to a reported assault at a government constituency office situated in the 300 block of Herring Cove Road. During this incident, a man entered the office and assaulted two individuals, both of whom were known to him. Additionally, he caused damage to the office before departing the scene on foot.

While at the location, police received a subsequent report indicating that the same individual had also caused property damage at the Captain William Spry Community Centre located at 16 Sussex Street. Once again, he left the area on foot.

The suspect has been identified, and police officers are currently actively working to locate and apprehend him.
