Man breaks windows, assaults nearby people on Spring Garden

Police are investigating assaults and incidents of property damage that occurred in Halifax early this morning.

At approximately 12:15 a.m. officers responded to the 5600 block of Spring Garden Road for reports of a man who was damaging property and assaulting people. He used objects found in the area to break windows of businesses and damage vehicles. The man also assaulted a number of people who were in the area. No one required medical treatment. The man fled the area on a bicycle.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s to 40s, approximately 6’ tall, with a medium build, bald with a beard. At the time he was wearing a white shirt, jean shorts and a black backpack.
