Man charged after child approached and filmed

Annapolis District RCMP has charged a man with child pornography and sexual offences after an incident on a trail near Hwy. 10 in Springfield.

On July 9, 2022, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Annapolis District RCMP responded to an incident involving sexual interference. RCMP officers learned that a child was out on their dirt bike when they were approached by a man and inappropriately filmed. The child was able to flee and reported the incident to a parent.

The man was located by RCMP officers at a home on Hastings Rd. in Springfield. He was safely arrested and his cellular phone was seized.

Robert Curtis Joseph Henderson, 18, of Camperdown, has been charged with:

  • Sexual Interference;
  • Invitation to Sexual Touching;
  • Making Child Pornography;
  • Possession of Child Pornography

Henderson has been remanded into custody and will appear in Digby Provincial Court today.

The investigation is continuing and further charges are anticipated. RCMP officers have since located other evidence, leading them to believe other victims may exist.
