A man has been charged in relation to a robbery that occurred this past April in Halifax.
On April 18 at approximately 4 a.m., three masked males forced their way into a home in the 6200 block of Quinpool Road, one of them brandishing a long gun. The suspects demanded that the residents hand over their cell phones, money and an XBOX. Two of the six adults in the home at the time of the incident, both males, were assaulted by the suspect with the firearm but were not seriously injured. The suspects were described as three younger males wearing masks over their faces and hooded sweatshirts.
Last evening, as a result of the investigation, members of the General Investigation Section arrested a man without incident in the 200 block of Willett Street in Halifax. A police negotiator, the Emergency Response Team, along with Patrol and K9 Unit members assisted.
Twenty-six-year-old Caleb Matthew Clyke of Halifax is facing a number of charges, including five counts of robbery with a firearm and one count each of break and enter, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, using a disguise with intent to commit an offence, and breach of a firearms prohibition order. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court this afternoon.
