A man faces charges in connection with a sexual assault that took place
earlier this month.
On May 22 at approximately 2 a.m., a 21-year-old woman left a residence
in the 2500 block of Agricola Street. She was approached by a man who
attempted to engage her in conversation and followed her as she walked
southbound. When the reached the area of Citadel Hill the man asked her
to go up the hill and she refused. He forced her part way up the hill
and sexually assaulted her. She was able to fight the suspect off and he
fled from the area.
Last night at 9:40 p.m., officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated
Major Crime Unit conducted a search of a residence on Adams Avenue in
Halifax and arrested a man who was found hiding at this location.
Forty-eight-year-old Adrian Carman Joseph Drysdale of Halifax is
scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of
sexual assault, unlawful confinement and uttering threats.
