Man Charged in Stabbing

A man faces charges in connection with last night’s stabbing in
Fairview.

At 9:08 p.m., police responded to an apartment building on Titus Street
and located a 55-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds. He
was taken to hospital, where he remains, with life-threatening injuries.
The investigation by officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated
Criminal Investigation Division, assisted by West Patrol Officers, led
to a suspect being identified. He was located at 11:55 p.m. at a
residence on Mandaville Court and arrested without incident.

A 45-year-old Halifax man faces charges of attempted murder, uttering
threats, robbery and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He
is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today.
