Man charged in stabbing incident

Investigators assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section charged a man in connection with a stabbing that occurred earlier today in Dartmouth.

At 12:18 p.m., police responded to an apartment in the 0-100 block of Roleika Drive for a report of a stabbing.

A 26-year-old woman was stabbed several times during a confrontation with a man known to her. She was transported to hospital by EHS with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released from hospital.

Officers arrested a 37-year-old Dartmouth man at the scene. He is facing charges of assault causing bodily harm and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace. He will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court tomorrow.
