Police have charged a man following a sexual assault that occurred yesterday in north end Dartmouth.
At approximately 5:15 a.m., a woman in her twenties* called 911 stating she was being sexually assaulted by a man. Patrol officers attended the scene where the man was arrested.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the woman met the man shortly prior to the incident. After meeting, they went to a local coffee shop and then attended a nearby residence, where the sexual assault took place.
Twenty-eight-year-old Pablo Moises Alas of Fall River faces charges of aggravated sexual assault, uttering threats to cause death or grievous bodily harm and overcoming resistance (choking). Alas appeared in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to answer to the charges.
