RCMP release:
Meteghan RCMP Detachment has charged a man with multiple offences after seizing firearms and drugs from a home in Digby County.
On December 3, RCMP officers executed search warrants at a residence in the 1600 block of Hwy. 1 in Church Point and a residence in the 1400 block of Maza Rd. in Saulnierville in relation to an ongoing firearms and drugs investigation.
During the search, officers seized two rifles, a handgun, ammunition, cocaine, tusi (also known as pink cocaine), a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, a cell phone, and cash.
As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old man was arrested at an address on Water St. in Yarmouth.
Justin Charles MacLean, of Meteghan River, has been charged with:
- Careless Storage of a Firearm (three counts)
- Possession of Firearm without License (three counts)
- Possession of Restricted Weapon without License
- Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (three counts)
- Possession of Restricted Firearm with Ammunition without License
- Possession of Firearm while Prohibited (three counts)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) (two counts)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
MacLean was released on conditions by the court and is due to return to Digby Provincial Court on January 22.
The investigation is ongoing.
