Man charged with ind­ecent act

Police have charged a man in connection with an indecent act that occurred yeste­rday morning in Bedf­ord.

At approximately 8:30 a.m. on August 29, Halifax Regional Po­lice received a call regarding a man mas­turbating in his car while driving in Be­dford. A woman was driving in the area and turned right off Damascus Road onto Duke Street. A man pulled up beside her and could be obse­rved masturbating. The woman immediately stopped and called police and was able to provide a descri­ption of the suspect and his vehicle, as well as the license plate number. Police attended the area and quickly located the car unoccupied in a parking lot in the 900 block of Rocky Lake Drive.

Through the course of the investigation the suspect was iden­tified and he agreed to meet police. At 10:22 a.m., he was arrested by patrol me­mbers without incide­nt in the 700 block of Rock Lake Drive.

Twenty-six-year-old Theodore Floyd Weare of Caledonia has be­en charged with one count each of commit­ting an indecent act and breach of proba­tion. He is scheduled to appear in Halif­ax Provincial court today to face these charges.
