Lunenburg District RCMP have charged a 54-year-old male for his attempt to intimidate a justice participant.
On Saturday evening, Lunenburg District RCMP members arrested Craig Swiminer of Western Shore. Swiminer has been remanded into custody and will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on today, October 26 at 9:30 a.m. to face charges of Intimidating a Judicial Participant and Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling House.
‘A charge of this nature is laid when police believe that a person has attempted to directly or indirectly intimidate a witness in a matter before the courts, ‘ says Sgt. Stephen MacQueen of Lunenburg District RCMP. ‘The arrest and subsequent charges in this matter demonstrate that police will not tolerate attempts to intimidate or negatively influence any witnesses who come forward to assist police in criminal matters.’
