A Halifax man has been arrested on Internet luring charges.
Forty-seven-year-old Richard MacLean was arrested without incident at about 2:20 p.m. on Sunday in a parking lot off Agricola Street in Halifax.
The arrest came after an investigation by the Integrated Halifax Regional Police/RCMP Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit.
MacLean was charged with luring a child under the age of 16 by computer for a sexual purpose. The ‘child under 16’ in the investigation was actually an undercover police officer.
MacLean is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Monday.
HRM Partners in Policing remind parents about the importance of monitoring their children’s online computer activities.
