Man charged with robbery, attempted robbery

A man is in custody after robbing a Needs, and attempting to rob a Domino's Pizza.

From HRPD:
At 1:17 am an employee from the Needs Convenience Store at 6130
Chebucto Rd reported a suspicious person in the store, male wearing a
stocking cap and red and blue lumber jacket, the  party left prior to
police arrival.

At 1:27 am Halifax Regional Police responded to a report  of attempted
robbery at Domino’s Pizza on Vernon St. Lone male entered the
business, stated he had a gun and demanded the money. No gun was
observed, the employee did not give the suspect any money and the
suspect fled on foot.

Suspect :  male, 5’8, wearing a black and red plaid jacket, panty
hose over his head, black hat.

At 1:33 am the same suspect was back in the  Needs store, threatened he
had a gun, none was seen, demanded money and fled with an undisclosed
amount of cash. The employee was not injured during the robbery.
An extensive search of the area by K9 and patrol members located the
suspect, a 31 year old male was arrested and is currently in police
custody, he will be charged with robbery, appearing in Halifax
Court later today.
