Release:
A man faces charges in connection with several separate and unrelated
incidents in downtown Halifax over the last two weeks.
There have been three separate incidents where a man has approached
women in downtown Halifax. The incidents occurred on March 20, 27 and 28
and in each case the man is alleged to have touched the women for a
sexual purpose. In one of the cases, the man continued to follow the
woman for several blocks. Patrol officers were able to identify a
suspect and arrested him last night on Brunswick Street without incident
at 6:50 p.m.
Thirty-three-old Kristopher Abbs of Halifax is scheduled to appear in
Halifax Provincial Court today to face two counts of sexual assault,
three counts of assault and one count of criminal harassment.
