Man dies following shooting, death ruled a homicide

The 20-year-old victim of yesterday’s shooting in North Preston has succumbed to his injuries. Following an autopsy by the Medical Examiner, the death was ruled a homicide.

At approximately 12:55 a.m., on January 27, Halifax District RCMP responded to reports of shots fired in North Preston. Police located the victim of the shooting en route to the hospital, and he later succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation has revealed that the victim was shot near Clarence St. All scenes have been released and the investigation is ongoing, led by Major Crime Unit of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
