Man driving to the left of a solid double line causes serious-injury collision

RCMP release:

Queens District RCMP is investigating a serious collision that occurred on Hwy. 103 in Port Mouton, Queens County.

On September 25, 2023, at approximately 4:20 a.m., Queens District RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a report of a three-vehicle collision on Hwy. 103 in Port Mouton. RCMP officers learned that a Dodge Ram was travelling west on Hwy. 103 when it crossed over the centre line and into oncoming traffic. A Ford Edge, which was travelling east on Hwy. 103, swerved to avoid the Dodge Ram before the Ram collided with a Chevrolet Silverado that was also travelling east on Hwy. 103.

The passenger of the Silverado, a 40-year-old Lunenburg County woman, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by LifeFlight. The driver of the Silverado, a 46-year-old Lunenburg County man, along with the driver and passenger of the Edge, a 68-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman of Colorado suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene by EHS.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 21-year-old man of Shelburne, has been issued a Summary Offence Ticket for driving to the left of a solid double line.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Hwy. 103 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
