Man faces 24 charges in relation to thefts from retail stores, vehicle theft and assault

Police have laid 24 charges against a man in relation to seven incidents that occurred in January and February.

On March 29, members of the Quick Response Unit arrested Joseph James Jonathan Froment, 32, without incident in Dartmouth in relation to six incidents where items were stolen from retail stores across the region and one incident where a vehicle was stolen and the vehicle owner was assaulted in a parking lot on Powder Mill Road in Fall River. 

Froment was scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court yesterday to face the following charges:

  • Theft under $5,000 (x6)
  • Possession under $5,000 (x6)
  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Assault
  • Failing to comply with an undertaking (x10)
