Man faces attempted murder charges after stabbing victim multiple times

RCMP release:

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has charged a man with Attempt to Commit Murder following a stabbing in Beechville.

On August 18, at approximately 12:11 a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment and EHS responded to a report of a stabbing on Hamilton St. in Beechville. Upon arrival, first responders located a man suffering from serious injuries.

RCMP officers learned that two men, who were known to each other, were involved in a physical altercation inside a residence. During this altercation, one person presented a knife and stabbed another person multiple times in the torso.

The victim, a 35-year-old Timberlea man, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.

At approximately 12:43 a.m., RCMP officers including RCMP Police Dog Services located and safely arrested a 28-year-old Beechville man in the woods nearby.

Shondre Jarvis, 28, has been charged with:

• Attempt to Commit Murder

• Aggravated Assault

• Assault with a Weapon

Jarvis was remanded into custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on August 19.

The investigation is ongoing.
