Man faces charges in fatal collision

Halifax  District RCMP is laying charges following an eight-month investigation into a fatal collision in Beaver Bank last October.

In the early morning hours of October 18, 2015, a single vehicle collision occurred on Beaver Bank Rd. A small car with four occupants left the road and sustained serious damage. A 21-year-old Beaver Bank man died at the scene, and a 22-year-old Lower Sackville woman died in hospital on October 20, from injuries sustained during the collision. Another 19-year-old Beaver Bank woman was injured during the collision. The driver of the car, a 22-year-old Beaver Bank man, was transported to hospital, treated and released.

 

Earlier this week, Halifax District RCMP arrested the driver and he is facing the following charges:

 

– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm

– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death x 2

– Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm

– Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death x 2

– Operating a Motor Vehicle with a BAC over 80mg% Causing Bodily Harm

– Operating a Motor Vehicle with a BAC over 80mg% Causing Death x 2

 

He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on July 27, 2016.
