Man Faces Impaired Driving Charges After a Overnight Crash in Dartmouth

At 12:50 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Woodlawn Avenue and Lancaster Drive. Officers located an unoccupied vehicle on Lancaster Drive and, determined that the driver had fled on foot. Multiple police units attended the area, along with a K-9 unit and, after a track by K-9, the driver was located behind a residence on Sea King Drive. He was arrested without incident.
 
The 20-year-old drvier of the vehicle has since been released from custody. He will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of impaired driving and having a blood alcohol level that exceeds the legal limit.
