Police charge man with child luring and child pornography offences

Investigators in the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged a man with child luring and child pornography offences.

On March 23, 2022, ICE investigators arrested Aaron Byron Cumberland, 31, in Dartmouth. He has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of child pornography [x4]
  • Luring a child [x3]
  • Making child pornography [x4]
  • Making available child pornography [x4]
  • Obstruct a peace officer while engaged in the lawful execution of their duty
  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Failing to comply with probation order [x3]

Cumberland is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today.

Investigators believe there may be other victims within the Halifax region and throughout Nova Scotia. We are reaching out to offer support and encourage victims to contact police.
