Man from gas station attack passes away

Terrance Thomas Dixon, 47, passed away today after being attacked on June 29

At approximately 10:20 pm on June 29th, 2020, Halifax Regional Police received a report of an assault with a weapon that had just occurred at the Esso Gas Station, located at 6020 Young Street, Halifax.

An unknown male approached Terrance Dixon in his vehicle, while parked outside this location. The unknown male then assaulted Mr. Dixon with an edged weapon. The unknown male then fled in a vehicle, which was later located abandoned within close proximity of the assault. 

Mr. Dixon sustained serious injuries and was transported by EHS to the QE2 Health Sciences Centre for further treatment.

Mr. Dixon succumbed to his injuries on July 4th, just after midnight. The Medical Examiner has conducted an autopsy and his death was ruled a homicide. 

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.  

The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a grey hoodie, long blue jean shorts, blue baseball cap, white socks, black sneakers and black gloves.

The Halifax Regional Police Integrated Major Crime Unit continues to investigate.
