Man hospitalized after morning bat assault

RCMP release:

Halifax District RCMP has arrested a man following an assault causing bodily harm in Hatchet Lake.

On November 2, shortly after 9 a.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of an assault that occurred outside of a residence on Westridge Rd. RCMP officers learned that a 43-year-old man, who was armed with a bat, had assaulted a 51-year-old man following a verbal altercation. Both men are from the Hatchet Lake area and are known to each other.

The 51-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.

The 43-year-old man was safely arrested at the residence and will be facing a charge of Assault Causing Bodily Harm.

The man was later released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on January 4, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.
