Man in custody after police pursuit, Goffs, N.S.

Nova Scotia RCMP have arrested a 31-year-old male after a police pursuit on Highway 102 this morning.

At approximately 11:15 a.m. RCMP attempted to pull over a speeding vehicle travelling southbound on Highway 102.

Police had previously received information that the driver of the vehicle may be impaired. The suspect vehicle failed to stop for police and at one time, sideswiped a police vehicle. The suspect vehicle exited Highway 102 at Exit 6 (Halifax Stanfield International Airport) onto Bell Blvd. but was hindered by ongoing construction. The vehicle then attempted to turn back towards Highway 102, but was stopped by a police vehicle before the suspect was able to re-enter the highway. The suspect was then arrested by police. There were no injuries to the suspect or officers.

The suspect, a 31-year-old male from Dartmouth is currently in police custody and will be charged with a number of offences.

The investigation is continuing.
