Man in custody following stabbing in Halifax

At 10:46 p.m. August 11 a caller reported a disturbance with a number of people fighting in front of an apartment building on Randall Avenue. The fight was over when police arrived however officers found a 33-year-old male suffering from multiple stab wounds. Another male fled on foot when officers arrived. He was pursued and arrested at a nearby residence on Main Avenue. The victim was transported to hospital by EHS. His injuries are not life-threatening at this time. The suspect (31-years-old) remains in custody and the investigation is ongoing. Charges are anticipated however are not likely until later in the day today.
