Man injured following shooting incident in Yarmouth

A 32-year-old man was injured after RCMP in Yarmouth responded to a complaint on Regent St. last evening.

The caller told police that there were people smashing a parked vehicle, then gunshots were heard in the area. The suspect vehicle was identified as a red pickup truck, and one RCMP officer located the truck but it sped away from the scene.

The RCMP did arrest one man near Regent St. on a wooded trail. He was with a second man, who fled the area on foot.

The injured man sustained non life-threatening injuries. Yarmouth Rural RCMP is investigating this incident and is asking anyone who has information about the identity of the occupants of the red truck to call them at 902-742-9106, or 1-800-803-RCMP (7267).
