Man on house arrest faces drug charges in Shelburne.

On February 17th, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Shelburne County Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) executed a search warrant at a residence on George street.

No one was home at the time but police located the male a short time later two blocks away on the same street. Officers seized a quantity of marijuana from the man and another quantity of marijuana and drug related property that was found at the residence. Approximately 30 grams of individually packaged marijuana was seized in total. At the time of his arrest, the Shelburne man was subject to a court imposed Conditional Sentence Order with a house arrest provision in relation to a December, 2013 conviction for drug trafficking.

As a result of this new drug charge on February 19th, the Conditional Sentence Order (including house arrest) was revoked and the Shelburne man was ordered into custody to serve the remaining term of his sentence. Vincent William Buchanan, 34, of Shelburne will appear in Shelburne Provincial Court on April in relation to the latest drug charges.
