Man robbed at online marketplace meetup

Police have charged a man for a robbery that occurred in Halifax last week.

On February 10 at approximately 9 p.m. officers responded to a robbery that had just occurred near the 6100 block of Charles Street. A man was meeting another man in relation to purchasing an item he saw on an online marketplace. The seller demanded money and presented what is believed to be a firearm then fled the area on foot empty-handed.

Officers arrested the suspect in the area a short time later.

Nakell Louis Grandy, 19, was scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court yesterday to face one count of robbery with a firearm and three counts of failing to comply with the conditions of a probation order.
