Man robbed at online marketplace meetup in Dartmouth

Police have charged a youth for robbery that occurred yesterday in Dartmouth.

At approximately 1:05 p.m. officers responded to a robbery that had just occurred at the Woodside Ferry Terminal at 9 Atlantic Street. Two youths met a man in relation to electronics being sold on an online marketplace. The youths took the electronics from the man and ran away. When the man attempted to follow, one of the youths presented what was believed to be a firearm and threatened the man. 

At approximately 2:30 p.m. officers arrested the youth, who had presented the firearm, in the area of Baker Drive and seized the stolen property and a replica firearm.

The 15-year-old youth is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth youth court at a later date to face charges of:

  • Robbery with a firearm
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Officers continue to investigate and are looking for the second suspect described as a Black male youth in his late teens, approximately 5’6” tall, 150 lbs., with black hair, wearing a black shirt and pants with a red shirt underneath and red shoes.
