Halifax Regional Police has charged a man in relation to a robbery that occurred in Sambro on Sunday.
On December 31 at approximately 7 a.m. officers responded to a robbery that had occurred in the area of Martins Point Road. A man attended the location to buy some jewelry from the victim, who was known to him. The man threatened the victim, struck him with what was believed to be a firearm, then fled the area in a vehicle with the jewelry. The victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening.
A short time later, members of the Halifax District RCMP arrested the suspect at a residence in Timberlea, without further incident.
Corey Flannigan, 27, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court today to face charges of:
- Robbery with a firearm
- Pointing a firearm
- Assault with a weapon
- Uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death
- Possession weapon dangerous to public peace
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
