Man robbed while in vehicle, drug search ends in charges

A man was robbed while sitting in his vehicle, and another is facing drug charges in separate incidents last night.

Robbery

At 6:39 pm members of the Halifax Regional Police responded to a robbery that occurred in the area of Wellington Street and Lundy Lane in Halifax. The victim was in his vehicle stopped in the area when he was approached by several males who claimed they had a knife. They relieved the victim of his wallet and the contents and then fled the area on foot.

The main suspect is described as a male between 22-23 years old 5'10" , 170 lbs wearing a dark jacket and orange hooded sweatshirt. There was very limited description of the other males. The investigation is continuing.

At about 8:00 pm members of the Integrated Drug Unit executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 0-100 block of Highfield Park Drive. As a result a quantity of cocaine and other drug paraphernalia was located and seized. The search also resulted in the seizure of two handguns and ammunition. A 26 year old male of Dartmouth is scheduled to appear in court on January 7th, 2011 to face numerous drugs and weapons charges.
