Man stabbed during attempted car theft

Halifax Regional Police is continuing to investigate a robbery that occurred in Halifax last month and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect.

On January 14, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing that had occurred in the area of South Park and Clyde streets. A man had attempted to steal a vehicle that was parked near that location. The man cut the vehicle owner with a knife when he confronted him. The suspect then fled the area on foot. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s to 30s, approximately 5’7” tall, with a stocky build, dark hair, wearing jeans, a light blue-green hooded sweatshirt, a black mask and black backpack.
