Man Threatens Driver With Bat After MVA, Then Threatens Police Officer

A man is facing charges after a road rage incident in Halifax last night.
At 5:30 p.m., police responded to the area of Chebucto Road and Connaught Avenue for a report of a man standing in the middle of traffic armed with a baseball bat. It was learned that the man was involved in a motor vehicle collision with another vehicle at the intersection. He exited his vehicle and threatened the other driver with violence. The suspect returned to his vehicle to retrieve a baseball bat and continued to threaten the other driver before hitting his vehicle. The suspect got into his vehicle and left outbound on Chebucto Road at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was located on St. Margaret’s Bay Road by Highway 103 where the suspect was arrested. During his arrest, he also threatened to kill the arresting officer. The baseball bat was recovered and no one was injured.
Taylor Christopher Jones, 21, of Halifax was held in custody overnight. He will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, causing a disturbance, breach of a previously imposed court order and two counts of uttering threats.]\
