A 26-year-old Ontario man is lucky to be alive after he fell into the water earlier today.
At approximately 4:35 p.m., Halifax District RCMP, EHS and Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency Services responded to a 911 call that a man who was standing on the rocks at Peggy’s Cove had slipped and fell into the water.
Preliminary investigation determined that the Captain of the Peggy’s Cove tour boat ‘The Sea Dog IV’ was alerted and immediately launched his boat. Approximately 10 minutes later, the Captain located the man floating on his back approximately 30 to 40 feet from the rocks.
The man, who was extremely cold, was transported to the hospital by EHS with undetermined injuries. RCMP wishes to remind the public to be cautious when walking along Nova Scotia shorelines as wet rocks can be very slippery. The investigation is continuing.
