It is warm today (Spring-like temperature) but a winter storm might be coming on Thursday. And one month till Christmas. It’s Canada 🙂
My alphabet skin care stash was complete when I received Marcelle CC (Complete Correction) cream SPF35 (broad spectrum UVA/ UVB) in Golden Glow.
I have gone through 2 bottles of Marcelle BB cream (the multi-tasker) and one DD cream (for antioxidants) and are happy with both. Now this CC cream promises to reduce the appearance of dark spots and skin imperfections caused by sun exposure or aging. Let’s go!
Marcelle offers 2 shades with the regular CC cream but only one with the Golden Glow. Both versions are infused with light reflecting (24K pure) gold pigments, while Golden Glow is to provide the right hint of illumination.
Note the higher SPF and the sleek square bottle design with pump.
Marcelle CC cream claims to be just the BB Cream but with more long term skin care benefits:
– Corrects and helps prevent the appearance of dark spots and imperfections
– Offers complete coverage
– Evens out skin tone and texture
– Controls shine
– Provides anti-dull radiant complexion
– Allows long-wear hold for lasting perfection
– Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
– Reverses the signs of aging
– Favours and improves skin elasticity
– Protects skin from environmental stressors
– Offers immediate and intense hydrating benefits
– Soothes and calms dry/damaged skin.
I find the coverage is only light to medium but it does a good job in evening out my skin tone, the same way the BB cream does. Long term benefits are of course taking longer time to prove, but I don’t expect the product to replace my skin care. As long as my skin does not look as dull as it really is, I’m happy. I will have a FOTD to follow.
Here is the CC cream in Golden Glow (right) next to the BB cream in Light to Medium. I would say the CC is a tiny bit thicker for texture. For colour, since they both blend in invisibly, I wouldn’t worry too much.
Ingredients: Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Cyclohexasiloxane, Butylene Glycol, Polymthylsilsesquioxane, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, etc.
All in all, if you are happy with the BB cream, stay with it. If you are looking for a bit more, have concerns about dull skin, or just prefer the square bottle with pump, take a step up to the CC cream.
As always with Marcelle, the CC cream is perfume/ paraben/ oil free, suitable for all skin types, The bottle is 1.1oz/ 30ml, retails $29.95 (on sale on their site $19.95 at the moment).
The brand has a good article on BB, CC, DD decoding to help with decision on picking a product that is right for you.
