March Break Wrap-Up: March 9-15

1. It's the East Coast Music Awards week! There are lots of free concerts and fun happenings around the city but this one is specifically for kids. The young and young at heart can get silly and let loose with crowd-pleasing songs to delight all ages. Featuring performances by: Donna & Andy, Coach Patt, and more!   Keshen Goodman Public on Saturday. 2. Head to Halifax Shopping Centre on the break and make a sock monkey to support the Children's Wish Foundation! 3. Celebrate the break by heading to Rebel Space indoor playground, they've got lots on the go, including cookie decorating on Tuesday! 4. The Maritime Museum’s Pirates on the Seven Seas program features drop in activities each day throughout the break and is open to children of all ages and their families. We encourage children to come dressed as pirates to start their journey to exotic destinations and discover sea-faring traditions while having boat loads of fun trying various activities and crafts at seven "ports" located throughout the Museum. 5. For a historic farming experience, head out to Ross Farm. Each day of March Break will have a theme relating to the farm. As always there will be lots of hands on activities for everyone to enjoy and crafts that everyone can participate in throughout the day. For a more modern approach, head to Hatfield Farms for a 2 Hour Adventure with Wagon/Sleigh Ride, All-You-Can-Eat Hot Dogs, Unlimited Juice, Pop, Coffee, Tea & Hot Chocolate, Unlimited Time in our Heated Rubber Rodeo with the Inflatable Games and Petting Pen. 6. Head to the Art Gallery on Sunday for Pop Goes the Easel program which includes an interactive brass ensemble with Symphony Nova Scotia at 1:30pm, an "instrument petting zoo" with Long & McQuade, and an afternoon of hands-on art activities in the AGNS studios. 7. Head to the library on Tuesday for their Jedi Academy to hone your skills with trivia, training games, and more! May the force be with you! 8. The Discovery Centre’s newest exhibit, Ends of the Earth, takes visitors from one end of our globe to the other. Through interactive and artifact-based exhibits and multimedia experiences, visitors explore the fascinating (and cold!) worlds of the Arctic and Antarctic. There will be exciting daily programming during the break, movies and bear skulls and more! 9. Dog Sled rides at Ski Wentworth! With professional Dog Sledding Teams there are rides offerred every hpur, please pre-book! 10. Get ready for Mad Science at the Alderney Landing library! Come see scissors sizzle and shiver, or take a carbon dioxide shower! This science show features foggy ice storms and bubbling potions!...
