Driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs puts everyone in danger. In December 2009, MADD Canada and the Nova Scotia Government launched Campaign 911 to encourage citizens to call 911 if they believe someone is driving while impaired.
HRM Partners in Policing attribute 40% of their monthly impaired driving charges to calls from concerned citizens. Help do you part to keep our roads safe. If you think someone is driving while impaired call 911, and if you drink, don’t drive.
The focus in February was on seatbelt and child safety seat enforcement. The Unit’s members wrote in excess of 900 tickets during the month for a variety of violations including 101 tickets for seatbelt violations.
